For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to worlds that don't exist. I couldn't tell you exactly why. Only that the pull was always there, long before I had words for it, and it never left.

It is the same thing that still draws me now, into Middle-earth and Westeros and the open sea where the maps run out. Every world like that is borderless, deep with history and language, running on far past the edges of the story. And in every one, the person who ends up changing everything is someone nobody would have bet on: a hobbit no one noticed, a disreputable pirate, a boy who should have stayed home. A limitless world, and an unlikely hero handed the power to shake it. That is the feeling I have chased my whole life.

It is also why I write. Fantasy is the one place with no boundaries and no hard rules, where my imagination gets to run with the leash off. I build the world from nothing, and then I decide where its power lands, and it never lands where anyone expects. That is the whole point.

Here is what I have learned building these worlds: the cost of the extraordinary is always personal. Always. A dragon bond, a sea curse, a Faerie bargain, a witch's inheritance, none of it comes free. Heritage refuses to stay buried. Gifts are paid for in full. And no one who touches the extraordinary walks away unchanged.
